Yes,
that time is upon us! That special time,
when I start running around in a frenzy like my dog when she’s caught a rabbit
(or spots a kangaroo in the distance, or sees…basically anything with
wheels. She’s really into things with wheels. We don’t know why. She’s a dog, we’ve never asked her).
Yes,
it’s release time! (duh-duh-DUH!!!)
Every
Move IS ABOUT TO ARRIVE AT SHOPS, holy crap.
Soon it will be on shelves - in bookstores, at libraries, in schools –
and in peoples’ hot little hands. People
will be reading it, my god (I mean,
people are reading it now, for
review, which is a-mazing, but by the end of the month other people – anybody,
in fact – will be reading it. Eep!)
And I
am right in the middle of it all. I’m
prepping packages of be-ewdiful posters and book cover proofs and media release
and stickers and badges and swaggy things, to be sent out to schools and
libraries and bookstores (I’m sending them this week, if you’ve been
waiting). I’m doing interviews and guest
posts and articles for the upcoming blog tour.
I am spending a lot of time on
my phone. And I’m getting really excited
about the release, and the Killer Queens gig I’m doing with three other crime
authors at Castlemaine Library on 5 March, and the chance to talk to students
at Somerset Literature Festival in mid-March, and the party! Omg, yes, the launch party!
(it’s on 16 March – see my prev post.
My thoughts about it are currently running along the lines of What food will I buy? How much booze will we need? And – most importantly - which flannie will I
wear??)
So
right now, even if you can’t make the launch, and you can’t join in the fun elsewhere,
you still get a chance to celebrate with me– cos I’m giving stuff away.
I HAVE
TWO SIGNED COPIES OF EVERY MOVE AVAILABLE TO WIN ON GOODREADS
Wanna
try your luck on Goodreads? Click the
linky-link (see over on the right)
I ALSO
HAVE THREE EVERY MOVE GIVEAWAY PACKS TO OFF-LOAD
These
are, I have to say, pretty spesh. Each
pack consists of:
*A
full set of the Every series: Every Breath, Every Word and Every Move
*A set
of three posters (one for each book)
*Three
Every Move badges
*Three
lovely Every Move postcards
*Six
Every Move stickers, for your stickery enjoyment
*All
these things come wrapped inside a totally sweet Every Move library bag (or it could
be an anything bag. I say it’s a library
bag, cos I use mine at the library, but really – go nuts)
Wanna
have a go at winning a giveaway pack?
You
can do ONE of these things to enter:
1) Tweet – gimme a mention on
Twitter, using the name of the book, and I will put your name in the hat
2) Comment – here on the the blog
below this post
3) Facebook – share the link to
this post on FB, and let me know in a comment
Remember,
you only have to do ONE of these ONCE (but hey, if you wanna tweet/comment /post
and generally squee about the launch, please feel free! I will be doing a lot of squeeing over here,
in the corner…)
At the end of March, I will compile all the names
from tweets/comments/posts into one big ginormicon-type list, and ask my kids
to randomly select a name from the hat (trust me, there will be no
cheating. Those little buggers cheat
like crazy at Uno and Scrabble and blackjack, but they take giveaway draws very seriously).
THIS
GIVEAWAY IS INTERNATIONAL. Yes, that’s
right. So you can enter from anywhere in
the world.
I am not including Instagram in
this giveaway –
the main reason for this is cos there will be another giveaway comp via Instagram (I will update you on that very soon), and I don’t
want people to get all confused. But
hey, if you’d like to tell people about the giveaway on Instagram, be my guest!
And
that’s it!
Oh,
before I go, I should say I had the most
incredible time on writing retreat.
Three whole days of just writing
– no ‘fitting the writing around other stuff’, just writing. Pure bloody magic. When I got home, I discovered that the house
had blown up…no, that’s not true. But my
partner got sick, the kids had multitudinous sporting engagements and were all running
around like chooks, my parents were visiting, and the dog had (temporarily)
gone missing, so I literally hit the ground running. My partner also helped pull a guy out of a
burning car by the side of the road in my absence (!!! And also ??? – yes, really.
I’ll tell that story another time). But
hey, we’re all mostly back to normal now!
Anyway,
I hope your week is not quite so eventful, and that you’re keeping well. North American friends – stay warm! Australian friends – stay cool! (well, you’re
always cool, heh) And see you next time J
Xx Ellie
Hi Ellie. I was going to be good and not greedy and not try to win this twice, but who am I kidding?! I'm hanging out to win this pack! So I've tweeted, FB'd AND commenting. :) I'm so excited about Book 3!!!
ReplyDeleteSo your partner pulling someone out of a burning car kind of reminds me of a huge plot point in JELLICOE ROAD By Melina Marchetta. Just a random connection my brain made as I read.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise...OMG OMG OMG YAY! Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter and win (:

ReplyDeleteI'd love to read this series!!! I've so much about it but I haven't gotten around to reading it. I hear there's a rather good looking swoon worthy guy in it though... ;) Also, I didn't know you had a blog!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteSo I legitamitely had to put down Every Word to make this comment but it will be so worth pausing my obsessive rereading of the series while I wait for Every Move if I win the comp. I can't tell you in words how excited I am! I owe you my restored faith in reading, your books caught me at a hard time and pretty much forced me to remember how much i love reading. Congratulations on writing another book that is sure to be as unbelievably amazing as the first two! Enjoy basking in the release of the book xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I haven't read these yet (*gasp*) but I've seen so much talk about them and I REALLY REALLY WANT TO. Being on a buying & borrowing ban means I haven't had the chance yet, but if I win this giveaway I don't have an excuse anymore!
ReplyDeleteBe thrilled to win. Hope to catch you at an event soon. Cheers Deb Bodinnar
ReplyDeleteHi Ellie,

Christine (padfootslibrary)
Hey there! So first of all thanks for this opportunity, this is so cool. 2nd, I would sell my first born child for a chance to win this package. My sis and I live in the U.S and have been ripping out our hair in frustration for the next two books. It's a series that just sticks with you and doesn't leave. Great job writing the series and if you read this message and think "Hey, this chick seems weird but mildly cool. She has a chance." Then that would be awesome! 😁
ReplyDeleteHappy writings!
Kat (I'll stop running my mouth now)
Wow, this is such a generous giveaway! Especially since we have to wait FOREVER for the books to come out in the US. I read Every Breath at the end of last year, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I can't wait for the next two!
ReplyDeleteEeeep so exciting! I love seeing the three books together. I finished Every Breath a few weeks ago and if I could hop a plane to Australia to snatch up the other two books, I would. Thank you for this amazing giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD EVERY MOVE IS COMING OUT SOON I AM SO EXCITED AND SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND CANNOT WAIT TO REEEEAAAAAAAAAD! Many, many congratulations and thank you for writing this fantastic series and brilliant characters and (of course) this beautiful (hot) ship.
ReplyDelete(also I forgot to say don't count this as an entry I just came by to say WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!)
DeleteCongrats on the release! I cannot wait to read EVER MOVE!
ReplyDeleteOMG what an awesome giveaway! I have heard so many good things about Every Breath and Every Word and everyone is so excited about Every Move, it's contagious.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the awesome, awesome giveaway!
Thank you for this generous giveaway! I love discovering new australian authors! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing giveaway! Congrats on your release!!
ReplyDeleteI never win these, but I've been very curious about this series, thanks to Meg, so I guess I'll enter. Also, you need to change your profile pic on here to your twitter one. This one is all pixelated.
ReplyDelete:)
Oh my god, this giveaway is awesome! I've always really wanted to read this series and that giveaway pack just looks so amazing.
ReplyDeleteWow thank you so much for such an amazing giveaway Ellie! I've been dying to read this series so this would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteHappy release!!
I'm Blogger inept apparently, b/c I've failed at leaving comment twice already ( I think), Congrats to you! Tweeted an pimped on https://www.facebook.com/elusivelyellablog :-)
ReplyDeleteOohh... You're going to be in Queensland? :D
ReplyDeleteAre you doing any other signings or events whilst you're here?
I couldn't help myself - had to Tweet, Facebook and comment here, and I'm awaiting for the Goodreads giveaway to go live too. :D Absolutely loved the first two in this series (and can I just out myself as being way way WAY past the age of YA and never ever did I think I'd love the tale of two teenagers....truly remarkable series that this old woman just loves )
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for an amazing giveaway, even more so for making it international! I was about to send my 83 year old great uncle into Melbourne to buy copies of your books and ship them to the UK, that's how much I've been wanting to read them. Love any twist on the Holmes/Watson stories so can't wait to read them :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Release Day!!! I shared news about it on Facebook and Twitter :D https://www.facebook.com/IwillreadtillIdrop/posts/605184962947785

ReplyDeleteThis is amazing giveaway, thank you! I loveee the idea with the hat. It sounds like a fun! :)
ReplyDeleteTHANK GOD I SAW THIS POST BEFORE THE COMPETITION ENDED. A piece of my soul would've died, if I hadn't entered!
ReplyDeleteTwo years ago in September 2013 I was a bored girl who was having a shitty day and was at the library bitterly thinking how there were no good YA books left in the library until sorting through the new release shelf came across Every Breath. I thought it sounded alright so stuffed it on my library bag and went home. Later that afternoon bored out of my brains with my maths schoolwork, I decided I'd have a few minutes 'break' and read a few pages of Every Breath (perks of being homeschooled right there! I have read MANY books in those 'few minute' breaks ;]). Um, yeah, well 3 hours later, I finished it, and OMG. MIND BLOWN. I wanted to cry. I wanted to scream. I wanted to push it into everyone and anyone's face and make them read it. It was truly the best book I read in 2013, and I've reread it about 4 times since then! I have such an emotional attachment to it, and I relate SO much to Rachel. Rachel and James' relationship is my favourite book relationship OF EVER. It's so real and intense and just, just, WATTSCROFT FOREVER AND EVER PRETTY MUCH.
Come mid June 2014, I FINALLY GOT MY HANDS ON EVERY WORD!!!! I had been waiting ALLLL year in tense anticipation and was squealing like an idiot when I picked it up from the library. I read it all in one sitting, and 2 hours later I was left with the realization that I had ANOTHER year to wait before I got to read Every Move. I think a piece of my soul died then, actually, because I SO wanted, no, NEEDED Every Move, but at the same time it would be over for good, and I knew that was going to rip my soul into little shreds and then stamp ALLL over it.
Every Word tied with Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas for for my favourite book of 2014, and it to owns a piece of my heart, just not as big as Every Breath's. ;))
Good news came when I discovered that Every Move was coming out in MARCH 2015 instead of August 2015, which I thought it was planned for!!! Cue excitement but also massive nerves for obvious reasons!
January 2015 I started to check if my library database obsessively to see if they'd ordered Every Move yet. When they FIIIIIINALLY did, I was number 1 in line (of course), and nervous as hell.
I finally got Every Move mid Febuary, and dear god, I WAS SICK WITH NERVES. It was almost like a dream when I actually held the beautiful book in my hands after YEARS of constant waiting. I took it home, plonked myself on the couch and refused to move for the next 3 hours it took me to finish it. I then went upstairs to my room reread my favourite parts (THE DANCE. OMG THE DANCE.) and then started to bawl. I cried my eyes out, and I'm stupidly getting teary now just writing about it, oh god. *sniffles* I've never cried over a book before, EVER. Not over Harry Potter, not over The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, not The Book Thief, NOTHING.
I bawled like a little baby over Every Move though. It's definitely my favourite book of 2015 hands down, such a big piece of my heart is given to it. <33
So basically: Thank you Ellie, SO MUCH, for writing this beautiful, amazing, wonderful, inspiring, EVERYTHING THAT IS BRILLAINT series that made me such a happy girl. <33
Also: Arthur Conan Doyle would be proud, I think. ^_^
This is such a wonderfully generous giveaway, thank you so much! I can't wait to finally read these books. I've been meaning to get to them but my TBR list is so long (and keeps growing) I'm not sure I'll be able to read half of it haha.
ReplyDeleteHi Ellie

Hi Lizzie - guess what? You're one of the giveaway winners! Yay! But please get in touch with me at elliemarney{at}gmail{dot}com, so I can send on your prize pack. Looking forward to sending your parcel, so be quick! xx Ellie
DeleteThis giveaway is freaking amazing! And might just be able to tide me over until the rest of the books come out in North America...
ReplyDeleteDo you know what I find really sad ellie? when ever I finally get to go on the net (my house has no internet) all the amazing book draws have already been done, so I'm stuck waiting for what seems like for my local library to provide books like every move that came out ages ago. The suspense is killing me!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf only I could fly to Melbourne and get the books myself!
By the way I meant it fees like years
